ABOUT HUVA

Habitat for Humanity (HFH) is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all fifty states in the United States of America and in approximately seventy countries around the world. HFH’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. HFH works toward this vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. HFH homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

The Habitat for Humanity Club at the University of Virginia (HUVA) has been established in accordance with the Agreement for a Contracted Independent Organization (CIO), which is updated annually by the University of Virginia’s Student Council, to assist HFH by working with the local affiliate and HFH’s international headquarters to carry out the mission, vision, and principles of HFH.
